As you guys know, I’m going to Europe and it is going to be cold and dry. It’s similar here and my skin gets very dry. Just stepping outside can make your hands as dry as the Sahara. My solution is applying two different lotions daily, or when needed. I use Burt’s Bees Hand Salve. It comes in a 3 oz tin and has a translucent appearance and waxy and thicker consistency. The amount you get isn’t a lot but a little goes a long way. The second I use is Pond’s Moisturizing Cream. It comes in a oval shaped tub. You can use almost any lotion on replace of Pond’s Moisturizing Cream.
2. Once you have rubbed in the lotion, take the hand salve or another product with a similar consistency and massage it over the lotion. Make sure the lotion is rubbed in.
Applying the wax like salve over the cream acts like a moisturizer and barrier for the cream. Often when you step outside you’re hands will quickly dry again. The salve will lock in the hand cream and keep the cream from drying in the open air. The slave also keeps your skin soft, so it’s a win, win.
